Our Top 3 Places to See Firework Displays in the U.S.

firework displays - dates in the states

My favorite time of year, Independence Day, is upon us. Why is it my favorite? Well, summer is finally here, and oh – it’s my birthday on July 5th! In celebration of this wonderful season, we’d like to discuss our top 3 places to see firework displays in the U.S.!

When I was younger, my family and I had a tradition. We would drive from our house in Pennsylvania to visit family in Upstate New York for 4th of July. I always had such a blast celebrating my birthday following glorious firework displays. My birthday always has turned into a big celebration weekend because of the holiday. We would bounce from Conesus Lake on July 3rd, to Rochester on July 4th, and celebrate more on July 5th at a go-cart track nearby called Minnehans! Since my Grandparents in Conesus have passed away, and other parts of the family have moved away, we’ve had to make new traditions – and we’ve found some pretty great places to spend during this time of year along the way.

Here are our Top 3 Places to See Firework Displays in the U.S.:

3.) Epcot, Walt Disney World, FL

Firework Displays - Epcot

Walt Disney World is always wonderful no matter the time of year it is. Every day is a celebration. However, it’s on our top 3 list of firework displays because of how magnificent the IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth display is.

These stunning firework displays happen in the Showcase Lagoon at Epcot’s Around the World. As people gather to watch the Earth Globe reveal a torch in the middle of the Lagoon, IllumiNations showcases the past, present, and future by way of the fireworks, pyrotechnics, lasers, searchlights, and holograms.

Best part is, this show happens year round. So, you don’t have to wait until July 4th to see it!

2.) Nashville, TN

Firework Displays - Nashville

Nashville presents their Music City July 4th fireworks celebration each year with one of the largest firework displays we have ever seen in the U.S. The celebration takes place all day with 5k and 10k runs, live music, festivals, and so much more.

While Shane was working the “Let Freedom Sing!” event one year, we were able to get the perfect spot to watch this ginormous firework display right next to the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. Best part of all, you can do most of the activities and listen to the live music in downtown this day for free.

Some of the best places to see these fireworks in Nashville:

You can pay a big sum of money to join other partygoers on top of the rooftop bars near the firework display on Honky Tonk Boulevard. These bars include our favorite, The Valentine and The George Jones.

If you are looking to save money, check out the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge. You can stand on the bridge to be up close and personal with both the fireworks and crowds of people, or you can stand on the ground like we did.

If you are looking to park your car and watch the fireworks from there, I suggest Nolensville Road or at the top of Love Circle if you dare. I say this because, there may be no parking due to the ragers Big & Rich have at their lovely Mt. Richmore home. Read more here: www.datesinthestates.com/nashville-famous-houses

Firework Display - Tailgate Beer

We also watched a firework display at TailGate Beer just outside of the city. It was a lot of fun to sit with a cold beer on their lawn and enjoy their free music and tastings while watching a beautiful firework display.

1.) Conesus Lake, NY

Firework displays - Conesus Lake

My favorite place to watch firework displays in the U.S. is Conesus Lake, NY. This is probably because its a sentimental place for me. I spent a lot of my summers at this beautiful lake and my fondest memories are of their July 3rd celebration.

Each year July 3rd is their biggest celebration, The Ring of Fire. The Ring of Fire will light up Conesus Lake by way of light flares and fireworks all around. You can see the outline of the whole lake and it is simply beautiful. I love the concept of the whole town getting together to celebrate.

Lake residents light the flares at 10PM and each resident has the opportunity to light their own fireworks or watch the free fireworks display at the North end of the lake.

We love our local firework show they always shoot them off to music timed with a local radio station. They have become more than just fireworks as they have kids activities at the fairgrounds and food before hand! It is a fun filled night for all of us!

I watched the fireworks one 4th of July in Mammoth Lakes, Ca. They have them by a lake 20 minutes outside of town where you can pull onto the dirt and either sit in your car or set up your chairs. It’s tailgating party meets fireworks and was so much fun:)
