How One Road Trip Started It All
Dates in the States began with a five-week cross-country road trip in Crystal's Mustang during our first year of dating. We fell in love with the thrill of exploring new places, finding unexpected stops, and making memories along the way.
That trip sparked an idea: what if we could help other people discover exciting experiences without needing a huge budget or an elaborate plan?
Since then, we've traveled to every mainland U.S. state and continued exploring beyond our own backyard. What started as a love of road trips has grown into a place to share destination inspiration, local finds, and creative ways to explore.

Meet Crystal & Shane
Crystal is the creative force behind Dates in the States. When she’s not planning their next big trip, she’s running her own digital marketing company, helping small businesses strengthen their online presence and connect with their communities.
Shane is a dedicated personal trainer running his business out of their home in Rochester. Beekstar Fitness offers virtual and on-location coaching. He specializes in helping clients with limited mobility regain strength, so they can get back to doing what they love.
